Karachi University Announced Scholarships for Students
The University of Karachi has announced a new scholarship program, funded by a private institution, with a total amount of 5.9 million PKR. During a ceremony, Vice Chancellor Dr. Khalid Iraqi highlighted the challenges faced by Pakistan’s education sector.
He stated that only 2% of students in the country can afford higher studies. Due to the economic crisis, the government is providing limited funds, and because of unemployment and financial pressure, many parents are unable to support their children’s education.
This scholarship will therefore prove highly beneficial for students. It is important to note that Karachi University is one of Pakistan’s leading universities, where a Student Admission Fund has been established. Last year alone, 10 million PKR was provided to deserving students who were unable to pay their fees.
