Punjab to Reduce Syllabus for Matric and Other Classes

Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has acknowledged the increasing academic burden on students and stated that he is actively working with senior teachers to reduce the extra workload on 9th Grade students and others.

He mentioned that in the coming months, the government will take steps to minimize unnecessary subjects, extra exercises, and excessive syllabus content so that students can perform better academically.

One of the main reasons behind this decision was the poor performance in this year’s matric results, which highlighted the need to ease pressure on students.

In a statement released on social media, Rana Sikandar Hayat Said, “We are aware of the extra load on students of Grade 9 and other grades. Curriculum experts and top teachers are working on reducing and realigning the curriculum”.
