Punjab Announces Dates for 2026 Matric and Inter Exams
The Punjab Education Department has confirmed the annual examination schedule for matric and intermediate students for the 2026 academic year.
According to the department, matric exams will begin on March 3, 2026. Intermediate board examinations will start on May 5.
The confirmation followed the approval of the revised admission policy, updated school calendar, and syllabus amendments for 2026. New textbooks, including 29 replacements from class six to matric, will be printed in December.
The academic year will start on April 1, 2026, while free textbooks will be distributed in government schools from April 5.
The department also stated that Class 8 students will sit for a board-based exam starting on February 3, marking a shift toward standardized assessment across Punjab.
